#2: Alice in Wakanda Land

In their premier interview, the duo host Alice Kombani (@AliceKombani on Twitter) and discover nuggets of wisdom from her second chance at life, her parenting choices, love Africa, her journey as a creative and a prolific filmmaker.

With her latest feature film ‘Pillow Talk’ pulling crowds to the cinemas, Alice Wangui is not new to having an audience revel in her work. Her brainchild project Tuwatch Cinema was particularly aimed at doing just that: bringing locally made films to the audience. Having won coveted awards such the Best Short Film at the 2015 Zanzibar Film Festival for her film ‘Angles on my face’ and most recently winning the Best Newcomer Producer at the inaugural Women In Film Awards: Alice Wangui K. is definitely not a newcomer to winning at life. 

We sit down with the queen, the filmmaker and all-round cool human being to talk matters creating, becoming, growing, learning: in other words how she stays – Busy Being Born.
